MUSIC WORKSHOPS IN GHANA
The Ghana Project
Lift Up Voices’ outreach program, “The Ghana Project”, was able to help address inadequacies in societal systems and raise the profile of effected individuals in Ghana, Africa. L.U.V team members presented musical performances and creative arts workshops in schools and nonprofit organizations in Ghana. Participants not only had the opportunity to watch inspiring performances from the L.U.V team but to also work with these musicians and explore new instruments, singing, dancing and recording music. Additionally, Lift Up Voices was able to provide a full year’s worth of school supplies and curriculum workbooks for grades one through six.

Telling stories of lesser known heroes from our past and can be an uplifting experience. We love to inspire the younger generation by following the lives of more diverse historical leaders and learning of their untold stories. Our Mission
To support at-risk teens in Utah by providing mentors, tutors and scholarships in education and the performing arts.
The FPL Program
Under the umbrella of Lift Up Voices, the First Pioneer Legacy program and scholarship will transform the lives of these young pioneers forever. Our goal is to change trajectories for generations. Participants will develop resilience and perseverance as they begin their Pioneer journey as the first in their family to obtain a college degree.
How will we do it?
Our youth will receive 150 hours of private tutoring and mentorship through their junior and senior year of high school. Once accepted to a Utah college, they will receive a full scholarship towards their four-year college education.
Why?
Through the FPL program we will provide a pathway out of the devastating impact that dropping out of high school can have on wellbeing, socio-economic status and engagement with the justice system.
Our Goal
It is our goal to support 10 First Pioneer Legacy students a year, with a total of 100 college graduates in 10 years.

L.U.V INNER CITY INITIATIVE
Where do we stand?
Lift Up Voices acknowledges the injustices that have plagued African-Americans for generations. It is our mission to provide an outlet for their voices to be heard.
What will we do?
The L.U.V Inner City Initiative will see further resources focused upon the black and brown community. Through our work we have come to recognize that there is a disproportionate amount of negative portrayals of black and brown men in entertainment, thus leading to implicit bias amongst the broader community. These biases perpetuate racial injustices. Lift Up Voices will play an active role in shifting the paradigm of content creation pertaining to African-Americans.
How do we do it?
By changing the narrative, we change the view. Our foundation recognizes the need for more positive portrayals of our black brothers and sisters in music and film. The L.U.V Inner City Initiative will form a mentor program, comprising of industry professionals that work in the highest levels of entertainment. Those participating in the program will receive hands-on training in all facets of song and movie creation as they contribute to reshaping the negative stigmas attached to color. Through song lyrics, character development and storytelling, the youth of today will have the opportunity to use their voice in telling their authentic story.
